- Research Interests
My primary geographic and temporal field of interest is Modern Latin America, specifically the Andean region. I am also thematically interested in the history of consumption and material culture, economic and financial history, global and transnational history, and social history.
My dissertation project investigates the development of tourism in and around Machu Picchu and the Cusco region of Peru. I am primarily interested in the local, global, and transnational actors and processes that helped transform Machu Picchu into an international icon as well as the economic, ecological, and social effects of tourism in Peru's southern highlands.
