Jonathan Anzalone
- I am a Ph.D. candidate and instructor in the Department of History. My dissertation, entitled "Creating a Modern Wilderness Playground: The Transformation of the Adirondack State Park, 1920-1980," explores the struggles over recreational and second-home development in the Adirondacks. I have taught a variety of courses, including Environmental History of North America, History of Public Health & Medicine, History of New York City, and Leisure & Recreation in US History. I am recipient of the Larry J. Hackman Research Residency, the Jackson Turner Main Award for Outstanding Research Paper, and the Stony Brook Presidential Fellowship. I've presented papers at the American Society for Environmental History Annual Conference, the Yale University Working Group on Global Environmental History Northeast Regional Conference, and the Annual Conference on New York State History.
